Best of 2009: Canción Original

Entre las películas vistas este año fueron pocos los temas originales que realmente me gustaron, así que en esta lista sólo incluí 8 canciones junto con dos temas (menciones honoríficas) que preferí por encima de otros aunque rigurosamente no calificarían como "originales".

Compuesta e interpretada por Per Gessle. La canción no era original pero sí inédita. Fue compuesta por Per Glesse (ex-integrante de Roxette) para su álbum En Händig Man (2007) pero finalmente no fue incluida en él. Tomas Alfredson logró integrar fragmentos especialmente para la película.

Were the World Mine de Were the World Mine
Música por Jessica Fogle. Letras por Cory James Krueckeberg (adaptadas de versos de William Shakespeare). Interpretada por Tanner Cohen y Nathaniel David Becker. La canción fue compuesta originalmente para el corto Faries, el cual sirvió como inspiración para el largometraje, ambos dirigidos por Tom Gustafson.

Las 63 canciones que suenan para el Oscar

A media semana se dio a conocer el longlist de las 63 canciones elegibles para el Oscar. Hoy que tuve tiempo de revisar la lista a detalle, me estuve deleitando con algunos temas realmente agradables. Seguramente los románticos y nostálgicos disfrutaran de melodías como You Got Me Wrapped around Your Little Finger (Beth Rowley; An Education) o When You Find Me (Joshua Radin; Adam). Otras canciones que merecen ser escuchadas con atención son Only You (Sinéad O'Connor; The Young Victoria) y Possibility (Lykke Li; New Moon).

A diferencia del año pasado, cuando el 20% de las canciones elegibles fueron de High School Musical 3 (...), esta vez ningún musical dominó realmente la lista, aunque Hannah Montana The Movie y The Princess and the Frog son los filmes con más entradas (cinco y cuatro, respectivamente). Entre los temas curiosos están Other Father Song de Coraline (sólo dura 30 segundos) y Petey's Song de Fantastic Mr. Fox (con su zippy-zo zippy-zay zippy-zappy zoopy-zee!). Además, Fast & Furious y La Nana contribuyen con un par de canciones en español. Destacan también interpretaciones de Linkin Park, U2, Paul McCartney, Andrea Bocelli, Bryan Adams, Karen O y del ganador del año pasado, A. R. Rahman (algunos todavía no olvidarán su Jai Ho), quien este año participa con el tema del filme Couples Retreat. Up in the Air y Precious son las grandes ausentes.
