Las 49 canciones que suenan para el Oscar

Mejor Canción es una de mis categorías preferidas. El año pasado no me cansaba de escuchar los temas de Enchanted, Meet the Robinsons y Ratatouille. En esta ocasión ya tenía algunos temas favoritos, aunque hubo varios que quedaron fuera cuando el día de hoy la AMPAS anunció las 49 las canciones que buscarán una nominación al Oscar.

Realmente tenía muchas ganas de escuchar a "All Dressed in Love" de Jennifer Hudson (Sex & the City) en esta categoría, y aún más me hubiera gustado ver a la única canción inédita del fabuloso soundtrack de Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist: "Ottoman" de Vampire Weekend. Por alguna razón estas canciones no fueron consideradas, como tampoco lo fueron el tema que compusieron Elton John y Baz Luhrmann para Australia ("The Drover's Ballad") ni las dos candidatas potenciales que tenía Twilight ("I Caught Myself", "Decode").

Entre las melodías que sí son elegibles tenemos interpretaciones de Sarah Brightman (Repo! The Genetic Opera), Regina Spektor ("The Call"), Zooey Deschanel ("Sweet Ballad"), Alicia Keys ("Another Way to Die"), Beyoncé Knowles ("Once in a Lifetime"), Nohra Jones ("The Story"), Peter Gabriel ("Down To Earth"), Mariah Carey ("Right to Dream"), Bruce Springsteen ("The Wrestler"), Danny Elfman ("Little Things"), Clint Eastwood y Jamie Cullum ("Gran Torino"), e incluso hasta Paris Hilton! Por supuesto no pueden faltar las 11 candidatas que tiene High School Musical 3, las cuales – hay que admitirlo francamente – conformaron uno de los mejores soundtracks del año.

Close-Up: Daniel Craig

El homme fatal por excelencia. Moderno, más siniestro, más arrogante. Humano y sin alma. Genuino. Así es el sexto James Bond. Algunos críticos lanzaron gritos cuando se anunció que Daniel Craig interpretaría al agente 007, pero el actor se defendió y hasta una nominación en los BAFTA logró como Mejor Actor por Casino Royale.

Craig (Cheshire, Inglaterra, 1968), quien además ha participado en títulos como Elizabeth, Road to Perdition, Munich, Tomb Raider, Infamous y The Golden Compass, regresa este mes a las pantallas grandes en Quantum of Solace de Marc Foster, ahora junto con el francés Mathieu Amalric. Aparentemente todavía no habrá un Bond "swinging both ways". Tal vez hasta Bond 23.
