Close-Up: Rodrigo Santoro

En esta ocasión el close-up va dedicado al brasileiro Rodrigo Santoro (Rio de Janeiro, 1975).

Rodrigo comenzó actuando en telenovelas brasileñas en la década de los noventas y posteriormente obtuvo su primer rol protagónico cinematográfico en Bicho de Sete Cabeças de Laís Bodanzky, película por la cual obtuvo gran reconocimiento en Sudamérica. Su siguiente éxito lo consiguió con el papel principal del filme Abril Despedaçado de Walter Salles y Arthur Cohn, cinta que fue premiada en el Festival de Venecia 2002 y que además recibió nominaciones al BAFTA y al Golden Globe en la categoría de Mejor Película Extranjera.

Más tarde, la película Charlie's Angels marcó el debut de su carrera en Hollywood y después lo vimos en la inolvidable comedia romántica Love Actually, donde seduce al personaje de Laura Linney. El año pasado apareció en la tercera temporada de la serie LOST y recientemente se transformó para interpretar al Rey Xerses en el filme 300, logrando una nominación en los MTV Movie Awards 2007 como Mejor Villano.

Próximamente lo podremos ver en las cintas Redbelt, junto con Tim Allen y Emily Mortimer; Talking with Dog, junto con John Cusack y Joe Anderson; y Black Oasis, al lado de Rose McGowan.
